Class Description: Realistic patinas are all the rage in today's design world! Reactive paints allow artists to achieve an endless spectrum of effects. In this workshop you will learn to incorporate reactive paints, plasters, and textures into pieces of fine art. Techniques demonstrated include, image transfer, embedded designs, loose brushwork, and color selection.

Bio: Art has been Ali Kay’s passion since childhood. She grew up in West Bend, Wisconsin. She founded her decorative painting company Positive Space in 2002 shortly after finishing high school at the age of 19. She studied fine art at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee while at the same time growing her mural and faux finishing business. After spending several years working with designers and architects creating unique interior spaces in Houston, Texas, she settled in Chattanooga, TN in 2013. She opened the new Positive Space Decorative Painting Studio at Chattanooga WorkSpace. Ali’s portfolio is vast and she takes on commission work in many different styles. She continues to create large scale murals, custom fine art and wall finishes, but she has now also added teaching painting workshops to her list of services. Ali’s work can be seen locally throughout Chattanooga as well as in the homes and businesses throughout the country.
