Other: Students will work on 20 x 24 canvases (supplied) that can be stretched for a finished size of 16 x 20. They can be rolled for travel

Class description: Create beautiful abstract and semi-abstract landscape paintings in a style that is both popular and relatively easy to learn. We will use Golden acrylics, and we’ll throw in some other fun stuff too, like metallic and stencils. You’ll work loosely from your own photos, exploring the way color, tone and composition work together to create a compelling piece. Expect to create at least 3 pieces.

Bio: Award winning Connecticut Artist Holly Whiting works in acrylics, watercolors, pastels, and just about anything else she finds about the studio. She loves to hike the White Mountains of New Hampshire and the Connecticut woods, which are the inspiration for much of her work. As the owner of Artistic Finishes, she has created murals and wall finishes for hundreds of clients. Her fine art has been shown in numerous venues, including the prestigious Lyme Art Association. Her commissions range from landscapes to portraits, including a 14 painting commission for Saint Catherine Church in West Simsbury, CT, depicting the Stations of the Cross.
