Class length: One day

Class Description: We will be teaching basic furniture re-stain and lovely painted techniques using very traditional and innovative means. We will teach a "making wood out of nothing at all" finish as well as high end painted techniques from the latest designer magazines. We will create (6) samples on decorative trim and mini cabinet doors. We will discuss basic furniture refinishing and restoration techniques.

Bio: Sarah Hines and Mets Schilstra are the dynamic duo that makes Shines Studios pop.  Mets and Sarah have been in the decorative finish industry since the early 2000s. They have both worked on many large scale residential and commercial projects. When they met at the 2013 IDAL Convention in Indianapolis, their professional and personal lives changed forever.  They are now married and working in the Indianapolis area.  With Sarah's background in furniture and restoration work, as well as a love for all countertop overlay products and Mets' love of any and all stencil and embellishment work, their business covers all areas of decorative finishing. Sarah and Mets have trained with every level of Faux Effects International, Modern Masters and Metropolis Ivas products. They are certified installers for Pure and Original products and DesignCrete.
