Class Description:
Learn the exciting world of printmaking by using Gel-Press Plates with unusual textural elements on non-traditional surfaces to create layers of FUN! Students will experiment and pull several prints on a variety of unusual surfaces.  Choosing their favorite print as the inspiration, students will finish by creating an abstract or representational painting - using the art of collage.  At the end of class, students will say: “Where did the time go?!” – always an indication of pure, unadulterated, creative play!

Supplies furnished by GOLDEN Paints - Open Acrylics, Strathmore Paper, Princeton Brushes, Gel-Press - gelatin plates

Students need only to bring their own brayer - for fun & optional - students can bring: any unusual paper laying around they wish to print on, texture making & mark making materials they wish to experiment with and stencils. 

Bio: Trish McKinney, is a national and international award winning artist and instructor who loves telling a story through her paintings by capturing moments in the human condition. She is a Signature member of the Ohio Watercolor Society, was published as the featured artist and author in Art Journaling Magazine and won numerous awards in national and international exhibitions. Her most recent awards include: The H.K. Holbein Award in the Pikes Peak International Watermedia XVII Exhibition and The Jim Brower Memorial Award in the Ohio Watercolor Society. Trish gives programs, demonstrations, workshops and retreats for all ages - both locally and abroad. She has taught workshops abroad in Italy, Greece, and France and throughout the United States.

Trish’s creative enthusiasm is contagious and she thrills at the prospect of inspiring creative joy in others through her art and teaching.
