Products used in class: Mica Revolution, Faux Effects

Bio: I started in the decorative painting business in 1990 slowly building a crew of dedicated artisans. we took on very large scale project all over the country. We faux finished the entire exterior of the worlds largest Harley Davidson building, and Wood grained 800 pirate boat beds for Disney in our spare time! After a successful 30+ year run at decorative painting, I have turned my attention to retirement. I've discovered that I am no good at retiring so instead I spend my days on much smaller projects along with sharing what I've learned in the finishing business with anyone wanting to learn! I fill in my schedule working on canvas art and running my new art gallery, Art Spotlight, in Ormond Beach Florida. I will say that retirement keeps me very busy.

Teri Althouse

Bio: After a successful 30 year run at decorative painting, faux finishes and murals on a large scale I have turned my attention to a smaller venue and medium. I often say I will paint with mud if that’s all I have but, I discovered alcohol inks several years ago and immediately fell in love with the vibrant, organic and fluid effects. I love the challenge of working with the inks as they activate and interact with each other wet or dry, changing shapes and colors instantly.

As I transition from the wall to the canvas I have been focused on mastering my alcohol ink techniques and sharing my discoveries with others. Working from my Ormond Beach art studio I am “blooming” in my flower series. You can keep an “eye” on my pet series or just loose yourself in the abstract drops of the vivid, and mesmerizing inks.
